Facebook

( source)
Facebook, a popular social networking site with nearly 500 million members; has recently added a function to anonymously ask one of your "friends" questions. I found this very interesting, as I think online social networks are really changing the way people communicate. The ability to ask a question to someone you know, in such a low stress environment is something you couldn't have achieved as easily 60 years ago. With the introduction of so many ways to communicate on-line, social standards, habits, culture are all changing. And its much easier to gather information on other people. I wish to see the trend of social technology continuing to grow.

  1. I agree with the fact that facebook is a great tool for keeping people connected. I've recently had the pleasure of reacquainting myself with one of my cousins in Germany. The last time I talked to him was more than ten years ago until he added me as a friend. Since then we've been able to keep in touch and talk about new things. What a great website facebook is!

  2. I also think that sites such as facebook and myspace are a great tool for communication. I think that it is also a good way to keep in touch with somebody without actually having to verbally communicate. I think that twitter and texting are just branching off of this and who knows where we will be in ten years. I think that talking on the phone will be a thing of the past.

  3. I also think that facebook is an amazing site for communication. Up untill last year I had not heard from my biological father or anybody on his side of the family but because of facebook I found him and my family and now we talk pretty much everyday. I have also found many friends that I used to know when I lived in Germany that I could never get ahold of untill now.
